NEILL MENNEER (BA HONS)
CEO & Chief Photographer
I have been a photographer all my life, ever since winning a Polaroid camera from the back of a cereal packet when I was eleven years old. After winning the Observer Photography competition years later and after obtaining a degree in photography I became a freelance photographer and have been taking pictures ever since. I still have the same passion and interest in photography and love nothing more than capturing classic images of people and places. I was one of the pioneers in digital photography and still love to finish our images in a variety of finishes. We moved into our new premises in 2007 and Team Spirit have created the perfect environment for the sole purpose of creating special and unique images of people. Every aspect of the building is dedicated to this end and to satisfy customer needs and comfort.
SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER
I came into the business in 2007 as marketing and studio manager. I don’t take photos, but I know a good image when I see one. I love working in the photographic business as it is both artistic and challenging. You will usually speak to me initially to arrange appointments and I am the main point of contact for your Spirit corporate photography shoot. I am usually to be seen walking through Victoria Park in the mornings on my way to work with Jaspa our dog, both getting our exercise.
PHOTOGRAPHER & PRODUCTION MANAGER
I have worked with Neill for over 16 years and understand how the man ticks! I work as a photographer for Spirit Photographic family portraits and production manager for all divisions of the business. I’m in the lucky position of working with beautiful or dramatic images from start to finish whether producing large wall art from a family session or preparing for print and checking the editing for a business website.
PHOTOGRAPHER & ASSISTANT STUDIO MANAGER
I have recently joined the Spirit team. You may get my voice on the end of the phone when you call. I also book people in for their family and boudoir portraits and look after them from the initial booking through to viewing and collecting or sending their images. If you need to speak to Jo or Neill I can transfer you. I love working at Spirit. It is such an awesome space and I’m also learning quite a lot about photography!
I have been a part of the Spirit Family for a few years now and have loved being part of such a great team. My time at the studio is split into two roles; hair and makeup artist, and admin which includes doing viewings, so I may be the one showing you your images. I love working with clients to create the perfect hair and makeup look to compliment the styling of the shoot. I get to spend some time with the clients before they start with the photographer where we have a laugh and get to know one another. This is a relaxing time for clients, a chance to be pampered! There is always a fun and lively atmosphere in the studio which makes my job even better! I look forward to coming into work to spend time with talented individuals and help towards creating beautiful photos.
THE STUDIO DOG
I am 3 years old and love to have my belly tickled. When you arrive at the studio the grown-ups usually keep me away from you, which I find very frustrating. I have been rechristened Ninja dog as I have a really great ability to sneak past and jump on you on the sofa. So if you like to tickle tummies please make sure you stop them taking me away from you.
IN THE STUDIO
The Spirit studio is a beautiful, awesome, magical space. This old Methodist church in Bath has created the perfect environment for portrait photography.
